LGSG CODE OF CONDUCT

Shooting Ranges are meant for sports shooting only. All types of firing by the members, their families and guest will be at their own risk. It is strongly cautioned that children must always be accompanied by their parents. Children under 16 years of age are not allowed on big bore and shotgun range. All activities in shooting gallery premises relating to the transport, carriage and discharge of fire arms shall be in accordance with the current government regulations as well as shooting gallery’s rules and bye laws. General rules to be followed at shooting ranges are as under:-

  • Members interested in using shooting ranges must first register at the reception where they will be issued a coupon to be handed over at the range reception.
  • Request for the use of shooting gallery’s firearms and / or ammunition, is to be made at the reception. Payment will be made as per the rates decided by management committee.
  • No weapon or equipment of shooting gallery is allowed to be taken out of premises. Any type of ammunition surplus after shooting shall not be taken away by the members if issued by the range staff.
  • Member will be responsible for his / her own safety and shooting gallery administration will not be held responsible for any mishap or accident that may occur. 1 x Nursing Non Commissioned Officer from “Division Medical Battalion” to be present on the range fully equipped to deal with emergencies.
  • Shooting gallery’s membership card should be in possession when using shooting ranges and must be presented upon request by the staff.
  • Members using their own weapons must be in possession of a valid license and it must be presented upon once requested by the staff. Only weapons and ammunition category approved for shooting will be allowed to be used on designated ranges. Weapon and ammunition brought in the gallery by a member must be entered in the gate register upon arrival and a receipt obtained. Upon departure after the day’s events, the same be recounted and an exit document be obtained from the gate keeper.
  • Member’s dependents and accompanied guests may participate in shooting on designated ranges after necessary entry and payment of charges already specified.
  • All member’s dependents and guests must shoot under the direct supervision of the member and ranges staff. The member is responsible for their dependents and / or guest’s actions and deposition of fee / charges.
  • Ranges are open to all members. Upon arrival, they should report at the reception who will arrange a time slot for the member to shoot on his requested range depending on shooting station availability. In case a member wishes to make an advance booking, he may do so giving the date and time he would like to shoot. The reception / range manager will assign a time slot as desired.
  • Spectators are permitted to enter the shooting ranges after registering at the reception and are restricted to the spectators’ areas only. They must not enter the firing point areas. Any violation thereof will deemed as a security violation and treated accordingly.
  • Mobile phones, portable sound devices, flash emitters and smoking is not allowed on the ranges while firing. Cameras may be allowed with permission to be used only in the spectators’ area but flashes are not permitted.
  • Persons under the influence of drugs and alcohol intoxication will not be permitted on the ranges.
  • Pets are not allowed on the ranges. For members who would like to train their dogs against gun shyness would require a special permission in writing from administration against a fee. Permission, time, date and designation of ranges is the Secretary’s discretion.
  • Shooting will only be permitted on shooting gallery’s provided targets. Shooting at bottles, cans, or other objects (on the ground or elevated) is prohibited. Apart from range staff and shooters on the 10 Meter and 50 Meter ranges, no other person is allowed to place / erect target.
  • Hunting or shooting of wild animals on shooting gallery’s premises is prohibited.
  • Misbehavior of any kind (verbal and / or physical) will not be tolerated.
  • Shooter wearing shalwar kamiz, open chappals / sandals, high heels, mini shorts will not be allowed. Under International Shooting Sports Federation Rules, Jeans are not permitted to be worn by the shooters during a match.
  • No weapons and shooting kit are allowed in the lounge, restaurant, swimming pool and gymnasium areas. Member waiting to use a range may deposit their weapon at the armory or at the range under the supervision of the range safety staff. Shooters may keep their weapons and shooting kit with them in the shooters’ rest area designated on the shooting range.
  • No member is allowed to walk around in shooting gallery’s premises with a loaded weapon except when at the firing station.
  • No shooter will be permitted more than four (4) firearms per visit per range.
  • As a courtesy to other members, during busy hours (one or more members awaiting range use), range use by an individual or group will be limited to one hour per range.
  • In case of damage to shooting gallery’s property or assets, the member responsible will be made liable and the cost of repair or replacement will be added to his / her monthly subscriptions by the accounts office and it will be notified to him.
  • At the range, the decision of the range staff will be final and abiding. Any complaint should be submitted in writing within three days to the assistant secretary for consideration.
  • On completion of shooting, members would have to settle their range facilitation charges at the reception by either paying in cash or signing the invoice.
  • Scheduled activities such as tournaments or practice sessions approved by shooting gallery will take precedence over informal shooting which will be notified.
  • Smoking is not allowed in shooting ranges. Players are only allowed to smoke in permitted areas outside the ranges. They will ensure that cigarettes and matchsticks are extinguished before proceeding for shooting.
